Chloé Grangiens
PhD Researcher
Chloé joined imec-SMIT, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, as a PhD Researcher within the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks RePIM (Redefining Public Interest Media). Her research aims to identify which audiences are being left behind by Public Service Media and to understand how these organisations can better reach and engage these groups.
Chloé’s research initially focused on media representation and content production, analysing media discourse and propaganda in crisis contexts. Her interest then expanded toward political communication, examining the relationship among political trust, digital communication and democracy. Today, she combines questions of media production with media reception and audience engagement, focusing on how public media can address challenges like platformisation and audience fragmentation to fulfil their universal service mission.
